House of the Future
The “House of the Future” was an architectural design competition organized by Buildner in collaboration with the Dubai Government, aiming to redefine modern living through innovative and sustainable design. The challenge was to create a villa that embodies Dubai’s vision for the future, incorporating advanced technologies, eco-friendly materials, and cutting-edge construction methods.
Key Features
- Sustainable design through utilizing shipping containers for their eco-friendliness, durability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Modern Layout: Ground floor features sitting and living areas, while the first floor houses bedrooms.
- Shipping containers allow for quick assembly and flexibility in design.
- A unique, contemporary look that aligns with Dubai’s architectural innovation.
Indigo’s Role:
Indigo designed a two-story villa using shipping containers as the primary structure, showcasing sustainability and modern living. The ground floor includes spacious sitting and living areas, while the first floor is dedicated to bedrooms. By leveraging the benefits of shipping containers—speed, flexibility, and durability—we created a forward-thinking design that aligns with Dubai’s vision for the future of urban living.
